Monday morning - Little Wall Lake near Jewell, IA

Little Wall Lake

near Jewell, IA

We have moved north of Ames to a small county park.  The lake is, also, small but fishin' isn't too bad.  It is so quiet and peaceful this morning.  It is fun to see all the weekend warriors full up the campsites on Friday, but it is nice to have the peace & quiet on Monday morning.
No wind this morning, blue skies and about 73 degrees.  Pretty sweet!

Fishing Big Creek - Polk City, IA

Great Day on the Lake

I fished while Bob read & napped, but most of the time he spent fixing things in the boat.
I caught 2 bluegills, 2 drum, 1 walleye, a large mouth bass. Only one bluegill was a keeper, but we threw him back.

Tadpole success as a fishing guide boat - Big Creek Lake, Polk City, Iowa

Charter Boat

Yesterday was beautiful on Big Creek.  Wind was still and temperature was about 75 degrees.  We took sister, Mary and her son, Andy and his girlfriend, Julia out for a fishing expedition.  All three caught at least one fish.  Bluegills and crappy.
Even with the mostly overcast sky, it was warm and great fun.
Tadpole performed wonderfully with five bodies on board.

Andy caught the first fish.

Julia is happy with her bigger fish.
No boating for us today.  Going to my nephew's wedding this afternoon.  That will be fun, too!

Tadpole's new power - Saylorville Lake - Polk City, IA

The Sun is Shining

Just picked up Tadpole with her new motor.  Bob is putting the registration numbers on and we'll be out on the water this afternoon.  Stay tuned for more water photos later today.
Very little wind and clear blue skies this morning following 10 straight days of wind and rain.
Oh Happy Day!

Putting the sticky registration numbers on the hull.

The beautiful new motor working smoothly.
